R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The vitality of the political process in Texas
  depends on the participation of its citizens, and Dixie Clem of
  Plano has upheld her ideals by contributing her considerable
  abilities to support the Republican Party; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Clem played an integral role in the
  organization of the Collin County Republican Party during the
  1960s, and she went on to lead the group as executive director for
  three decades; in addition, she is a charter member of the Conner
  Harrington Republican Women, and she has been active in the Texas
  Federation of Republican Women, serving as a district director and
  an elected officer and traveling around the state to assist with the
  formation of new clubs; and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, Mrs. Clem has earned recognition
  for her exceptional work, including accolades from the TFRW and the
  Collin County Republican Party, which recently established an award
  in her honor; today, she continues to serve the party as a precinct
  chair and a mentor; and
         WHEREAS, Dixie Clem embodies the spirit of public engagement
  that is the foundation of American government, and she may indeed
  take pride in her many notable achievements; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Dixie Clem for her service to the Collin
  County Republican Party and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Clem as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
