R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, After seven years of exceptional service, Sheryl
  Mills has retired as executive director of the Collin County
  Republican Party; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Mills became executive director in June 2004,
  and over the course of her tenure she served with three different
  party chairs; this accomplished Texan brought to her post a wide
  range of critical skills, from organizational and technical to
  analytical and strategic, and she contributed significantly to the
  party's continued growth and progress; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to directing the daily operation of the
  party's headquarters, Ms. Mills consulted on campaign management
  and message development, oversaw voter registration drives,
  assisted with fund-raising, conducted outreach to local Republican
  clubs and organizations, organized events, and managed volunteers;
  tireless in her dedication to the party's mission, she gained a
  reputation for always going the extra mile to ensure the success of
  the Collin County Republican Party, which is now one of the
  strongest Republican parties in the state; and
         WHEREAS, Sheryl Mills has played an instrumental role in
  advancing the cause of the Republican Party in North Texas, and she
  is indeed worthy of recognition for her exemplary public spirit;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Sheryl Mills for her outstanding service
  to the Collin County Republican Party on the occasion of her
  retirement as its executive director and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success and happiness in all her endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Mills as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
