R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Stafford have greatly benefited from |
|
the dedicated leadership of Cecil Willis during his long tenure on |
|
the city council; and |
|
WHEREAS, A resident of Stafford since 1975, Mr. Willis first |
|
served on the council from 1979 to 1995; he won election again in |
|
2000 and served as mayor pro tem for a year; and |
|
WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan serves as the council's |
|
representative to the Houston-Galveston Area Council; in addition, |
|
Mr. Willis is vice chair of the Fort Bend County Mayor-Council |
|
Association and executive director of the Quail Valley Fund; deeply |
|
committed to his community, he has also served on the city's Home |
|
Rule Charter Commission; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his years of service in municipal |
|
government, Cecil Willis has ably guided the city with an eye to the |
|
future, and his expertise in a range of community issues has earned |
|
him widespread respect; his efforts have helped to make Stafford an |
|
even better place in which to live and work, and he may indeed take |
|
pride in his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Cecil Willis for his committed public |
|
service and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Willis as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
