R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
death of Mamie Sue Moon Zabcik on May 13, 2011, at the age of 87; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Little River on June 28, 1923, Sue Zabcik |
|
graduated from Academy High School and Temple Junior College and |
|
went on to work as a secretary for McCloskey General Army Hospital, |
|
Scott & White Memorial Hospital, and businesses in Fort Worth and |
|
San Angelo; married to William Lee Zabcik for many years, she was a |
|
loving mother to her son, William Brian Zabcik; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to her career and family |
|
responsibilities, Mrs. Zabcik was a dedicated supporter of the |
|
Republican Party, even at a time when the majority of Bell County |
|
residents voted Democratic; a charter member of the Central Texas |
|
Republican Women's Club, she led the organization as second vice |
|
president and parliamentarian and assisted with the standing |
|
committee on legislative issues and the awards committee; she also |
|
attended several state GOP conventions, co-chaired the 1976 Reagan |
|
primary campaign in Temple, and served as a local precinct chair; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Sue Zabcik gave freely of her time and expertise to |
|
better her community, and she leaves behind a record of civic |
|
engagement that her loved ones can remember with pride; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Mamie Sue Moon Zabcik |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to her son, William Brian Zabcik, and to |
|
her other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sue Zabcik. |
