R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Adelia Engelbrecht of Crawford, who passed away on May 2, 2011, |
|
at the age of 102; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on April 1, 1909, in Coryell City, the former |
|
Adelia Jacobs was the daughter of Edward and Sophie Jacobs; she |
|
married Louis Engelbrecht in 1928, and the couple shared 39 |
|
rewarding years together before he passed away in 1967; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Engelbrecht delighted in caring for her 4 |
|
children, and she knew the joy of welcoming 14 grandchildren, 31 |
|
great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild into her family; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, In Coryell City she was a congregant of St. John |
|
Lutheran Church and later joined Canaan Baptist Church in Crawford, |
|
where she shared her time and talents as a pianist, teacher, and |
|
member of the Women's Missionary Union and various church |
|
committees; throughout her lifetime, she found pleasure in canning |
|
the vegetables that she grew in her gardens and in quilting; and |
|
WHEREAS, Adelia Engelbrecht possessed a generosity of spirit |
|
that expressed itself in myriad ways, and countless lives were |
|
enriched by her warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Adelia Engelbrecht |
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
|
children, Louis Engelbrecht, Clarence Engelbrecht, Frances Ann |
|
Bieber, and Angeleen Faye Polley; to her grandchildren, |
|
great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild; and to her other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Adelia |
|
Engelbrecht. |
