R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Teachers make a difference each day with the energy |
|
|
and creativity they bring to the education of our children; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, They help keep American democracy alive by laying |
|
|
the foundation for good citizenship, and they instill in young |
|
|
people a love of learning; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Filling such roles as listener, explorer, role |
|
|
model, motivator, and mentor, teachers continue to influence us |
|
|
long after our school days are over; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Few other professionals touch as many lives as |
|
|
teachers, and it is indeed fitting to recognize these committed men |
|
|
and women for their contributions to our state's most precious |
|
|
resource; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize the first full week of May 2012 as |
|
|
Texas Teacher Appreciation Week. |
