R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Matthew Paul Rayner celebrated a significant
  milestone in his life on May 22, 2011, when he graduated from Strake
  Jesuit College Preparatory; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rayner competed on the debate team, served as an
  announcer and a director in his school's television program, and
  acted in and was stage manager for one-act plays directed by other
  students; an Eagle Scout, he was a member of the Order of the Arrow,
  earned the Ad Altare Dei emblem, led a Boy Scout cleanup crew after
  Hurricane Ike, and worked at the 2010 National Scout Jamboree; he
  also served as a student ambassador and played baseball on a local
  team for five years; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rayner has been involved in the Future Business
  Leaders of America, the Young Conservatives, the Key Club, and
  Education for Theological Consciousness; with faculty and fellow
  students from Strake Jesuit, he has spent two summers in Mexico City
  teaching English to orphans; he will attend Loyola University
  Chicago in the fall and has received numerous scholarships; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Sharon and Paul Rayner, this notable
  young Texan can reflect with pride on his academic record and
  contributions to his community, and he may indeed look with
  anticipation toward a bright and promising future; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Matthew Paul Rayner on his
  graduation from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Rayner as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
