R E S O L U T I O N

|
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
|
Texas, 82nd Legislature, Regular Session, 2011, That House Rule 13, |
|
|
Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule 13, |
|
|
Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to |
|
|
resolve the differences on House Bill 3726 (preservation and |
|
|
maintenance of the Alamo by the General Land Office) to consider and |
|
|
take action on the following matter: |

|
House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(1), is suspended to permit the |
|
|
committee to change text not in disagreement in proposed SECTION 2 |
|
|
of the bill, in added Section 31.453(e), Natural Resources Code, to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(e) The land office may enter into an agreement with another |
|
|
organization for purposes of this subchapter if the land office is |
|
|
unable to enter into an agreement with the Daughters of the Republic |
|
|
of Texas as required by Subsection (a) before January 1, 2012. On |
|
|
the effective date of an agreement entered into with another |
|
|
organization under this subsection, any reference in this |
|
|
subchapter to the Daughters of the Republic of Texas means the |
|
|
organization with which the land office enters into an agreement. |
|
|
Explanation: The change is necessary to allow the General |
|
|
Land Office to enter into an agreement for the preservation and |
|
|
maintenance of the Alamo with another organization if a timely |
|
|
agreement with the Daughters of the Republic of Texas cannot be |
|
|
reached. |
