R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Tayler Lanise Haggerty celebrated a significant
  milestone in her life on May 14, 2011, when she graduated from Sam
  Houston State University with a degree in political science; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Dallas on June 2, 1990, Ms. Haggerty is the
  daughter of Betty Wafer and Michael Haggerty; a precocious child,
  she was blessed with an excellent memory and a gift for public
  speaking, which she exhibited when she began reciting poetry in
  public at the age of four; she performed across the state and
  impressed audiences with her talent and poise, as well as her
  ability to memorize difficult material at such a young age; and
         WHEREAS, Known for her curiosity and competitive spirit,
  Ms. Haggerty possesses a drive to excel in all of her endeavors; her
  success has been undergirded, as well, by a strong work ethic and an
  appreciation for the value of an education, both of which her
  parents instilled while she was quite young; focused on her future,
  she took college courses throughout high school, which enabled her
  to graduate from Sam Houston State University in three and a half
  years; even though she often worked two jobs during college to help
  pay her expenses, she still managed to maintain high grades; today,
  as she looks ahead, she is already making plans to attend law
  school, as she has long dreamed of becoming an attorney; and
         WHEREAS, Tayler Haggerty has demonstrated outstanding
  intellectual ability and an unwavering perseverance in the pursuit
  of her goals, and she can reflect with pride on her many
  accomplishments as she prepares to embark on an exciting new
  chapter in her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Tayler Lanise Haggerty on her
  graduation from Sam Houston State University and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Haggerty as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
