R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Darin and Kathy Leigh of Austin achieved an
  important goal on May 18, 2011, for on that day they became
  naturalized citizens of the United States of America; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Fish Hoek, South Africa, Mr. Leigh moved
  with his family to Welwyn Garden City, England, in his youth; after
  graduating from Sir Frederic Osborn School, he earned his degree in
  medical laboratory sciences from the University of London; Ms.
  Leigh was born and raised in Welwyn Garden City, England, where she
  attended Stanborough School before earning her degree in business
  and finance at the Dorset Institute of Higher Education, now
  Bournemouth University; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Ms. Leigh met in England and were married on
  August 26, 1995; they moved to Texas in 2001 and have lived in
  Dallas, Addison, and Farmers Branch; today, they reside in Austin,
  where Mr. Leigh is vice president of commercial operations with
  Luminex and Ms. Leigh is a department manager for Neiman Marcus; and
         WHEREAS, Darin and Kathy Leigh have realized a long-held
  dream by taking the Oath of Allegiance, and as they begin to
  exercise the full rights and responsibilities of citizenship in
  their adopted country, it is indeed a pleasure to welcome them as
  fellow Americans; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Darin and Kathy Leigh on attaining
  U.S. citizenship and extend to them sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
