R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lonell Burks has distinguished herself through her |
|
|
dedicated service to the residents of North Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Active in the Dallas community, Ms. Burks has |
|
|
generously volunteered her time to benefit Texas House District 111 |
|
|
while also encouraging others to participate in the electoral |
|
|
process; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Burks has further contributed to the Association |
|
|
of Community Organizations for Reform Now and to her congregation |
|
|
at Greater Christian Missionary Baptist Church, where she has |
|
|
served as mission president and church announcer; a former cook, |
|
|
she is the proud mother of two children, Janell and Lester; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lonell Burks has demonstrated a lasting commitment |
|
|
to making Dallas an even better place in which to live and work, and |
|
|
in so doing, she has earned the deep respect and appreciation of her |
|
|
fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Lonell Burks for her efforts in behalf of |
|
|
her community and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Burks as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
