R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Wayne B. Duddlesten of Houston, who passed away on May 20, 2010,
  at the age of 80; and
         WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, Mr. Duddlesten was born
  on March 12, 1930, to Iris and Loy Duddlesten; he graduated from
  Austin High School, and within a decade he established Tex-Craft
  Builders, a real estate development company that thrived under his
  guidance; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Duddlesten was a leader in his community; he
  served as state highway commissioner and played an integral role in
  bringing the Rockets, Houston's professional basketball team, to
  the city; he enjoyed traveling and spending time at his second home
  in Rancho Santa Fe, California, but above all else, he cherished his
  family, including his wife, Karen, and his children and
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Though it is impossible to gauge the full effect of a
  man's life, some individuals leave their unmistakable mark on the
  world as they move through it, and Wayne Duddlesten's legacy will
  long resonate in the lives of all who knew him; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Wayne B. Duddlesten
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Karen Duddlesten; to his children, Terri Layne Duddlesten,
  Wayne Duddlesten, Jr., and Jerri Duddlesten Moore and her husband,
  Jim; to his stepdaughter, Kelly Kelsey; to his grandsons, Parker
  and Christopher Moore; and to his other relatives and friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Wayne
  Duddlesten.
