R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were greatly saddened by the
  passing of James Stephen Odom of McGregor on April 24, 2011, at the
  age of 68; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Clethen and Clemmie Ima Odom, James Odom
  was born on March 6, 1943, in Houston and was educated in the local
  schools; he answered his nation's call to duty and served for four
  years as a member of the United States Air Force; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Odom was a source of comfort and calm advice to
  his loved ones, and he took great pride in Deborah Istre, his
  daughter, and in Shane and Justin Druppel, whom he helped raise and
  considered his sons; and
         WHEREAS, A resident of Oglesby for nearly three decades, Mr.
  Odom was employed as a welder with Unique Machine Shop, and he moved
  to McGregor several years before his death; in his free time, he
  enjoyed hunting and fishing; and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known James Odom will
  remember the way he touched their lives with his warmth and
  kindness, and he will forever hold a treasured place in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Stephen Odom
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  daughter, Deborah Istre; to his brother, John Adams; to Shane and
  Justin Druppel; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James Odom.
