R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were greatly saddened by the |
|
passing of James Stephen Odom of McGregor on April 24, 2011, at the |
|
age of 68; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Clethen and Clemmie Ima Odom, James Odom |
|
was born on March 6, 1943, in Houston and was educated in the local |
|
schools; he answered his nation's call to duty and served for four |
|
years as a member of the United States Air Force; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Odom was a source of comfort and calm advice to |
|
his loved ones, and he took great pride in Deborah Istre, his |
|
daughter, and in Shane and Justin Druppel, whom he helped raise and |
|
considered his sons; and |
|
WHEREAS, A resident of Oglesby for nearly three decades, Mr. |
|
Odom was employed as a welder with Unique Machine Shop, and he moved |
|
to McGregor several years before his death; in his free time, he |
|
enjoyed hunting and fishing; and |
|
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known James Odom will |
|
remember the way he touched their lives with his warmth and |
|
kindness, and he will forever hold a treasured place in their |
|
hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Stephen Odom |
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
daughter, Deborah Istre; to his brother, John Adams; to Shane and |
|
Justin Druppel; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James Odom. |
