R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Betty Ann McWilliams of Waco, who passed away on April 18, 2011,
  at the age of 66; and
         WHEREAS, Born on March 15, 1945, in San Francisco, to Tommy
  and Elizabeth McWilliams, Betty McWilliams moved with her family to
  Edinburg the year of her birth; she enjoyed the companionship of two
  devoted brothers, Lloyd and Gary; and
         WHEREAS, The family moved to Waco in 1952, and she graduated
  from Richfield High School and went on to receive bachelor's and
  master's degrees from Baylor University; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. McWilliams began a notable career as an educator
  with the Waco Independent School District in 1967; in addition to
  teaching, she sponsored the Waco High School chapter of the
  National Honor Society and the school's challenge team; she retired
  in 1997 and returned to teaching at Reicher Catholic High School the
  following year; and
         WHEREAS, Strong in her faith, Ms. McWilliams taught Sunday
  school at both Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and First Baptist
  Church; and
         WHEREAS, Betty McWilliams was greatly admired by her
  colleagues as well as her students for the kindness and
  encouragement she showed to others; she inspired countless people
  during her time on this earth, and she will always be remembered
  with great tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Betty Ann
  McWilliams and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
  family: to her parents, Tommy and Elizabeth McWilliams; to her
  brothers, Lloyd McWilliams and his wife, Nancy, and Gary McWilliams
  and his wife, Janice; to her aunt, Dorothy Laux; and to her other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Betty
  McWilliams.
