R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 82nd Legislative Session, Cole Howard has |
|
ably served his fellow Texans in the office of State Representative |
|
Roberto R. Alonzo through the Texas Legislative Internship Program |
|
(TLIP); and |
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1990 and administered by the Mickey |
|
Leland Center on World Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern |
|
University, TLIP provides a unique opportunity for students from |
|
Texas colleges and universities to serve as interns in the Texas |
|
Legislature, in state agencies, and in local government offices; |
|
students receive academic credit for participating in the program, |
|
which combines study and research with supervised practical |
|
training; Senator Rodney Ellis serves as a program advisor, and his |
|
office assists with coordinating on-site activities; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Howard has monitored |
|
legislation referred to the House Higher Education and Border and |
|
Intergovernmental Affairs Committees and assisted with constituent |
|
casework; and |
|
WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan has performed his duties |
|
as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he has gained |
|
valuable work experience in the field of public service while |
|
learning more about the legislative process and the issues facing |
|
citizens of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Cole Howard for his service to State |
|
Representative Roberto R. Alonzo as a participant in the Texas |
|
Legislative Internship Program and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Howard as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
