R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may |
|
temper the profound sadness felt at the death of Lillian Rose Harlan |
|
of Woodway on May 6, 2011, at the age of 95; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Indiana, the former Lillian Wilson was |
|
born on November 7, 1915, to Lane and Ida Mae Wilson; she married |
|
David McNaughton, and they became the parents of two children, |
|
Michael and Merry Ann; after Mr. McNaughton passed away, she was |
|
fortunate enough to find love a second time with Mack Harlan, who |
|
also preceded her in death; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Harlan was a valued congregant of Crossroads |
|
Fellowship Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for |
|
more than half a century; and |
|
WHEREAS, Lillian Harlan possessed a generosity of spirit that |
|
enriched the lives of all who had the privilege to share in her love |
|
and friendship, and she will forever hold a treasured place in their |
|
hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lillian Rose Harlan |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|
daughter, Merry Ann McNaughton Nyland; to her four grandchildren |
|
and five great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lillian |
|
Harlan. |
