R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Eugenia |
|
G. Reyes of Woodway, who passed away on May 5, 2011, at the age of |
|
82; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Lockhart to Rafael and Julia Martinez |
|
Gutierrez on October 30, 1928, the former Eugenia Gutierrez enjoyed |
|
the companionship of a sister and brother, Tina and Juventino; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Reyes and her husband, Manuel, shared a |
|
rewarding relationship and became the parents of three beloved |
|
children, Julia, Maria, and Francisco; over the years, Mrs. Reyes |
|
knew the joy of welcoming several grandchildren and |
|
great-grandchildren into her family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Eugenia Reyes and her family made their home in |
|
Waco, where she was a congregant at St. Francis Catholic Church, and |
|
in Edinburg, where she worshipped at St. Joseph Catholic Church; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Eugenia Reyes |
|
will remember the way she touched their lives with her kindness and |
|
her concern for others, and she will forever hold a treasured place |
|
in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Eugenia G. Reyes and |
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
|
husband, Manuel D. Reyes; to her children and their spouses, Julia |
|
and Kelvin Robinson, Maria and Humberto Juarez, and Francisco and |
|
Teresa Reyes; to her sister, Tina Bottoms, and her brother, |
|
Juventino Gutierrez and his wife, Aldonza; to her grandchildren and |
|
great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eugenia |
|
Reyes. |
