R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Billy R. Holtkamp of Robinson, who passed away on May 5, 2011, at |
|
the age of 79; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on December 19, 1931, on the family farm near |
|
Zabcikville, Bill Holtkamp graduated from Rosebud High School and |
|
attended Temple Junior College; he served proudly in the United |
|
States Air Force for seven years, including a tour of duty in Korea; |
|
while working for the Veterans Administration in Waco, he met the |
|
love of his life, the former Laura Knupple; they were married in |
|
1963, raised a son, Tim, and enjoyed a rewarding relationship until |
|
Mrs. Holtkamp passed away; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Holtkamp was a dedicated member of the First |
|
Lutheran Church of Waco; he enjoyed spending time with his |
|
great-grandsons and planning family reunions; he never missed a |
|
high school reunion, most recently attending one in April 2011 for |
|
Rosebud High alumni who had graduated 50 or more years before; and |
|
WHEREAS, Bill Holtkamp enjoyed a life that was rich in the |
|
intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those |
|
who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Billy R. Holtkamp and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his son, |
|
Tim Holtkamp, and his wife, Teri; to his granddaughter, Brittney |
|
Fikes, and her husband, Chris; to his great-grandsons, Lane, Cole, |
|
and Case Fikes; to his brother, Wayne Holtkamp; to his sisters, |
|
Betty Sue Blackburn and her husband, Dale, and Linda Carter and her |
|
husband, Rick; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bill |
|
Holtkamp. |
