R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A skilled physician and a dedicated civic leader,
  Dr. Luis H. Urrea II has truly made a positive difference in the
  lives of many El Paso residents; and
         WHEREAS, A board-certified orthopedic surgeon and the chief
  of staff for El Paso Specialty Hospital, Dr. Urrea has practiced
  medicine in the city since 1996; a respected member of his
  profession, he has served as president of the El Paso County Medical
  Society and as a delegate to the Texas Medical Association; in
  addition, he is the chair of the El Paso Medical Heritage Foundation
  and a member of the Border Health Caucus and the Southwest
  Association of Hispanic American Physicians board; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Urrea is the team physician for The University
  of Texas at El Paso athletic department and is the founder of the
  free Saturday morning Acute Injury Sports Medicine Clinic; active
  in a range of community initiatives, he serves on the boards of
  numerous organizations, including the Sun Bowl Association and the
  El Paso Symphony orchestra; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love
  and support of his wife, Barbara, and his children, Cole, Hunter,
  and Christina; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Luis Urrea has garnered the lasting respect and
  admiration of his fellow doctors, his patients, and people
  throughout the community, and he is indeed deserving of recognition
  for his impressive record of meaningful contributions; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Dr. Luis H. Urrea II for his professional
  and civic achievements and extend to him best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Urrea as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
