R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary is a celebration of love
  that has stood the test of time, and seven decades after that
  special day in 1941, Edgar and Rena Belle Luedeker of Waco continue
  to bring out the best in one another and to inspire all who share in
  the richness of their lives; and
         WHEREAS, Edgar Luedeker and the former Rena Belle Andrews
  were joined in matrimony on May 3, 1941, at a ceremony held in
  McGregor; through the years, they have been blessed with a
  treasured family that includes their daughter, Betty Gatlin, and
  her husband, Gene; and
         WHEREAS, Residents of Waco for the past 60 years, the couple
  are congregants of Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor; Mrs. Luedeker
  retired from the Success Motivation Institute after 11 years as
  personnel manager and payroll clerk for a subsidiary of the company
  and also worked for Bailey Insurance and Risk Management and J. M.
  Wood Manufacturing Company; Mr. Luedeker retired from General Tire
  and Rubber Company after 38 years and later worked for the American
  Red Cross for 17 years; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Luedeker have enjoyed seven decades of
  abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Edgar and Rena Belle Luedeker on
  their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
  wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Luedeker as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
