R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
  cause for celebration, and Beatrice Ann Boyd of Mineola marked that
  special milestone in her life on March 7, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Beatrice Boyd was
  born near Yantis to Governor and Ellis Howle; on October 6, 1927,
  she married Oscar Lee Boyd, and the couple were blessed with three
  sons, Thurman, Billy, and Phillip; through the years, she has also
  welcomed six grandsons, six great-grandsons, and three
  great-granddaughters into her family; and
         WHEREAS, In her younger years, Mrs. Boyd worked in the
  textile industry and was widely admired for her southern cooking,
  especially her chicken-fried steak; today, she is a valued member
  of First Baptist Church in Mineola; and
         WHEREAS, Beatrice Boyd is a source of tremendous inspiration,
  and in sharing the experience gained through a century of life well
  lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom that benefits all who
  are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Beatrice Ann Boyd on her 100th birthday
  and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Boyd as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
