R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Gladys Frasier Griffin of Rosenthal on April 21, 2011, at |
|
the age of 103; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born to Levi and Stella Frasier on November 6, 1907, |
|
in Frederick, Oklahoma, the former Gladys Frasier met the love of |
|
her life, Jesse Griffin, as a young woman, and the couple were |
|
married in 1932; Mr. and Mrs. Griffin went on to share nearly 70 |
|
years together, and were blessed with a son, Clark, as well as two |
|
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Griffin was employed for over two decades as a |
|
social worker in the Texas State Department of Public Welfare; |
|
moreover, she earned a master's degree in education and dedicated |
|
20 years of her life to teaching schoolchildren in Rosenthal, |
|
Satin, Travis, and Chilton; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Gladys Griffin will be deeply missed, |
|
cherished memories of time spent in her company will long endure in |
|
the hearts of her family and friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Gladys Frasier |
|
Griffin and extend sincere condolences to her loved ones; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gladys |
|
Frasier Griffin. |
