R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Clarence and Alice Lee of Quitman |
|
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 10, 2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lee were united in matrimony at Liberty |
|
United Methodist Church on that special day in 1951; through the |
|
years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made |
|
even richer with the addition of a son, Larry, a daughter-in-law, |
|
Sharon, two grandsons, Douglas and Daniel, and a |
|
great-granddaughter, Hillary; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Lovelady, Mr. Lee is retired from the |
|
Texas Highway Department, and Mrs. Lee, who was born in Wood County, |
|
worked as a nurse's aide at Heritage Nursing Home; they have both |
|
been valued congregants of Liberty United Methodist Church for many |
|
years; and |
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six |
|
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|
and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Clarence and Alice Lee on their 60th |
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
