R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Kenneth and Louise Dickey of Winnsboro |
|
|
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on January 28, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Kenneth Dickey and the former Ruby Louise Murphy met |
|
|
on the Fourth of July in 1938, and they were united in matrimony in |
|
|
Wood County in 1946; they were blessed with three children, Linda, |
|
|
Brenda, and Kenneth, and through the years, their family has grown |
|
|
to include 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After serving in the military, Mr. Dickey worked for |
|
|
the Red River Arsenal near Texarkana and then for the Collins Radio |
|
|
Company and Rockwell International in Dallas; Mrs. Dickey worked as |
|
|
a beautician in Garland for 10 years; since Mr. Dickey retired in |
|
|
1981, the couple have made their home in Wood County; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
six-and-a-half decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained |
|
|
constant in their commitment to one another, and the strength of |
|
|
their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and |
|
|
opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Kenneth and Louise Dickey on their |
|
|
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dickey as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
