R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Maria Toral is graduating as the salutatorian of the |
|
|
senior class of Channelview High School on June 5, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms. |
|
|
Toral demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
|
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to |
|
|
her studies are myriad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Toral is a member of the National Honor Society |
|
|
and has been chosen as a QuestBridge scholar; she will attend Emory |
|
|
University in Atlanta, Georgia, in the fall; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parent Edelmira Aleman, Maria |
|
|
Toral has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and |
|
|
classmates at Channelview High School, and her exceptional |
|
|
scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have |
|
|
opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young |
|
|
Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Maria Toral on being named |
|
|
salutatorian of the Channelview High School Class of 2011 and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she |
|
|
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Toral as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
