R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Paul A. Freeman won election to the Dallas
  County Schools Board of Trustees from Commissioner's Precinct No. 1
  on May 14, 2011, and as he prepares to take office, it is
  appropriate that he be honored for his exemplary dedication to
  enhancing the education of the county's schoolchildren; and
         WHEREAS, The Dallas County Schools Board serves the county's
  14 independent school districts by operating a fleet of
  approximately 2,000 buses, running an instructional media services
  library with more than 10,000 titles, and managing technology and
  psychological services departments; during his term, Dr. Freeman
  will draw on his experience in the Dallas Independent School
  District as well as at St. Anthony Catholic School in Dallas and at
  public schools in Louisiana and Mississippi; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Freeman holds a bachelor's degree in sociology
  from Texas College and a master's degree in theological studies and
  a doctorate in ministry from Southern Methodist University; he has
  had a notable career as a pastor in three states and leads Dr. Paul
  Freeman Ministries; in addition, he has been involved with numerous
  organizations benefiting young people, including the Boys and Girls
  Clubs of America and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and he has also
  shared his time and talents with Rotary International, as a
  Republican Party precinct chair, and as president of Mississippi's
  Lee County NAACP; in all of his endeavors, he enjoys the love and
  support of his wife of 41 years, LuVerda; and
         WHEREAS, Committed to fiscal responsibility and making the
  hard decisions that have to be made, Dr. Paul Freeman is rendering a
  valuable public service in behalf of the citizens of Dallas County;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Paul A. Freeman on his election
  to the Dallas County Schools Board of Trustees and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Freeman as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
