R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, For nearly two decades, nurse practitioner Tim Flynn |
|
has helped to ensure and maintain the good health of the public |
|
officials and state employees who work in the Capitol Complex, and |
|
he has continued this exemplary service through the Regular Session |
|
of the 82nd Texas Legislature; and |
|
WHEREAS, Each session, Mr. Flynn works in conjunction with a |
|
doctor of the day, but all year round, during the session and |
|
throughout the interim, he regularly provides expert medical |
|
assistance to the steady stream of visitors to his Capitol office, |
|
often saving patients a time-consuming and expensive visit to the |
|
doctor's office or even the emergency room; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Flynn was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and he |
|
earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from The University of Texas |
|
at Austin; he began his tenure as Capitol nurse in 1992, and in 2002 |
|
he received his master's degree in nursing from UT with a perfect |
|
4.0 grade point average and earned certification as an advanced |
|
practice nurse, or nurse practitioner, which enabled him to offer a |
|
wider range of care; and |
|
WHEREAS, In recognition of his exceptional skill and |
|
dedicated service, Mr. Flynn was honored with the Austin Advanced |
|
Practice Nurses Alliance Award of Excellence in 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Tim Flynn is universally regarded with respect and |
|
affection for his skill, his compassion, and his cordial, welcoming |
|
manner, and he is indeed deserving of the gratitude and friendship |
|
of all who work at the Capitol; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Tim Flynn for his outstanding service as |
|
Capitol nurse practitioner and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Flynn as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
