A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the qualification of supervisors of a fresh water |
|
|
supply district. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 53.063, Water Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), to be qualified |
|
|
for election as a supervisor: |
|
|
(1) [,] a person must be: |
|
|
(A) [(1)] a resident of this state; |
|
|
(B) [(2)] the owner of taxable property in the |
|
|
district; and |
|
|
(C) [(3)] at least 18 years of age; or |
|
|
(2) a person must be a registered voter of the |
|
|
district. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
