A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to notice by sign requirement for sexually oriented |
|
businesses. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 243.0075, Local |
|
Government Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
(a) An applicant for a license or permit issued under |
|
Section 243.007 for a location not currently [previously] licensed |
|
or permitted shall, not later than the 60th day before the date the |
|
application is filed, prominently post an outdoor sign at the |
|
location stating that a sexually oriented business is intended to |
|
be located on the premises and providing the name and business |
|
address of the applicant. |
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
to an application for a license or permit filed on or after |
|
September 1, 2011. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
