A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the program for improvement of collection of court |
|
|
costs, fees, and fines imposed in criminal cases. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Article 103.0033(b), Code of Criminal Procedure, |
|
|
is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) This article applies [only] to each[:
|
|
|
[(1) a] county in this state [with a population of
|
|
|
50,000 or greater;] and to each |
|
|
[(2) a] municipality with a population of 100,000 or |
|
|
greater. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
