A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the delivery of Medicaid services through a managed |
|
|
care model in certain counties and to certain recipient |
|
|
populations. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 533.0025, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
|
(f) Notwithstanding any other law, the commission may |
|
|
provide medical assistance through a capitated Medicaid managed |
|
|
care model to a recipient who is: |
|
|
(1) younger than 19 years of age; and |
|
|
(2) blind or disabled. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 533.0025(e), Government Code, is |
|
|
repealed. |
|
|
SECTION 3. If before implementing any provision of this Act |
|
|
a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a |
|
|
federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision, |
|
|
the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or |
|
|
authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the |
|
|
waiver or authorization is granted. |
|
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
