A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to recovery of the value of fraudulently obtained health |
|
|
care services provided or paid by the Nueces County Hospital |
|
|
District. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 281, Health and Safety |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 281.074 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 281.074. FRAUD RECOVERY BY NUECES COUNTY HOSPITAL |
|
|
DISTRICT. The Nueces County Hospital District may recover an |
|
|
amount equal to the value of any fraudulently obtained health care |
|
|
services provided or paid to a person disqualified under Section |
|
|
61.066. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
