A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the design and installation of signs at low-water |
|
|
crossings. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 544, Transportation Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 544.0101 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 544.0101. SIGNAGE FOR LOW-WATER CROSSING. (a) The |
|
|
manual adopted under Section 544.001 must include provisions for |
|
|
the design and installation of a uniform low-water crossing sign to |
|
|
be used at low-water crossings in this state. |
|
|
(b) The department or a local authority is not required to |
|
|
replace low-water crossing signs placed before January 1, 2012. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
