SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 13
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Bradford S. Wheeler for his many years of loyal service |
|
|
to the citizens of this country through his career with the |
|
|
Federal Bureau of Investigation and his ongoing work fighting |
|
|
crime in the Dallas-Fort Worth area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Bradford Wheeler graduated from Texas Tech |
|
|
University with a bachelor of business administration degree and |
|
|
a major in accounting; he was appointed as a special agent with |
|
|
the Federal Bureau of Investigation in July of 1976 and served |
|
|
for three decades, retiring in December of 2005; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During his career with the bureau, he served in |
|
|
the Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Dallas, |
|
|
and Fort Worth offices and specialized in white-collar crime, |
|
|
including bank fraud and embezzlement, health care fraud, |
|
|
securities fraud, mortgage fraud, Ponzi schemes, advance fee |
|
|
schemes, and public corruption; he was involved in several |
|
|
high-profile investigations, and his work led to indictments and |
|
|
convictions in numerous complex cases; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After retiring from the Federal Bureau of |
|
|
Investigation, he helped initiate an investigative unit at a |
|
|
major law firm in Dallas; in 2007 he joined the Economic Crimes |
|
|
Unit in the office of the Tarrant County Criminal District |
|
|
Attorney in Fort Worth, where he has worked in a variety of |
|
|
economic crime investigations; he currently focuses on mortgage |
|
|
fraud cases; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Wheeler has earned |
|
|
numerous commendations; a man of integrity and dedication, he has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the |
|
|
citizens in the Dallas and Tarrant County communities; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Bradford S. Wheeler for his |
|
|
exceptional service and his many contributions to this country |
|
|
and the State of Texas; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
