SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 14

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Carrie A. Pyle Wheeler for her many outstanding accomplishments in the field of education; and

WHEREAS, A 1975 graduate of Texas Tech University, she began her career teaching English, history, and reading in Lubbock; she taught in Oklahoma for several years and has taught in the Keller Independent School District since 1994; she currently teaches English at South Keller Intermediate School and serves as head of the English department; and

WHEREAS, This dedicated educator is a positive influence in the lives of her students and gives generously of her time and energy to help them with their work; she has instilled in them a sense of pride and a lifelong love of learning; and

WHEREAS, She has participated in numerous conferences and seminars so that she can continue to prepare her students to thrive in today's ever-changing, complex society; and

WHEREAS, She has been nominated multiple times for teacher of the year; she received the Texas Star Achievement Award in 2006 and has served the Keller Independent School District in many leadership roles; she has received several instructional improvement grants from the district and was named South Keller Intermediate Teacher of the Year in 2010; she is truly deserving of recognition for her dedication and her many achievements; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Carrie A. Pyle Wheeler on her commitment to her students and extend to her best wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
