SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 63
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dallas on the grand
  occasion of the dedication ceremony for the new church sanctuary;
  and
 
         WHEREAS, Holy Cross Parish was formed in 1956 to serve the
  residents of southern Oak Cliff and the patients in the veterans
  hospital; and
 
         WHEREAS, Over the last 55 years, the church has ministered
  faithfully to the needs of Dallas citizens; the church celebrated
  its 50th anniversary in 2006, and the dedication ceremony for the
  new church sanctuary takes place this year on March 6; and
 
         WHEREAS, The church has long served its members as an
  invaluable source of strength during times of hardship, and its
  ministerial services to others have been numerous; in 2005, the
  church played an important role in helping the many families
  displaced by Hurricane Katrina; and
 
         WHEREAS, The dedication of the new sanctuary is an
  opportunity to celebrate the church's contributions to area
  citizens and to express appreciation for the inspiration and
  support it provides the community; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to the clergy and members
  of Holy Cross Catholic Church on the joyous occasion of the new
  sanctuary dedication; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the church as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
