SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 91
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
join Texans across the state in celebrating January 25, 2011, as |
|
|
Texas Merchandise Vending Association Day; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Merchandise Vending Association was |
|
|
founded in 1950 and is affiliated with the National Automatic |
|
|
Merchandising Association; its membership includes snack and |
|
|
beverage vending companies, office coffee services, brokers, |
|
|
distributors, and manufacturers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The association is dedicated to promoting the |
|
|
common business interests and general welfare of the automatic |
|
|
merchandising industry in Texas and to improving its service to |
|
|
the public; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The vending industry in our state consists of more |
|
|
than 300 small businesses that employ more than 2,000 Texans, |
|
|
with more than 2,600 additional establishments operated by sole |
|
|
proprietors; these companies exemplify the Texas values of hard |
|
|
work, ingenuity, and good business practices; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This vital industry provides the working men and |
|
|
women of our state with a wide variety of such products as hot and |
|
|
cold beverages, sandwiches, candy, and other food products; it is |
|
|
truly fitting that the members of this association be recognized |
|
|
for their many achievements and their contributions to our |
|
|
state's economy; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Merchandise Vending |
|
|
Association on its commitment to serving our state and extend to |
|
|
its members best wishes for a successful and memorable Texas |
|
|
Merchandise Vending Association Day; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
|
|
honor of this special occasion. |
