SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 93
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Spencer Lloyd Reid
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of former Senate employee Spencer Lloyd
  Reid, who died November 14, 2010, at the age of 56; and
         WHEREAS, Spencer Reid was born on August 5, 1954, to Bill
  and Alice Reid of Lamesa, Texas; he was the valedictorian of his
  class at Lamesa High School in 1972 and graduated with honors
  from The University of Texas at Austin in 1976; he earned a law
  degree from The University of Texas in 1979; and
         WHEREAS, He served the State of Texas for more than 30
  years, beginning his career as an assistant sergeant-at-arms for
  the Texas House of Representatives when he was 18 years old; he
  worked in various capacities for the Texas General Land Office
  for a number of years, and he retired as general counsel for the
  lieutenant governor; and
         WHEREAS, Spencer cherished the time he spent growing up on
  his family's farm in Lamesa, a place he would later share with his
  children; he enjoyed traveling and camping with his family and
  sharing his knowledge of the land and nature; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devout Christian and the spiritual leader
  of his family; a warm and caring man, he was a devoted husband,
  father, and son, and he leaves behind memories that will be
  treasured forever by his family and his many friends; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Spencer Lloyd Reid
  and extend sincere condolences to his bereaved family; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Spencer Lloyd Reid.
