SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 128
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Joel Jimenez on the occasion of the statewide |
|
|
commemoration of Wounded Warrior Day on January 24, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Wounded Warrior Day is an opportunity for Texans |
|
|
everywhere to be reminded of the valor and dedication to freedom |
|
|
that the members of the United States armed forces have shown on |
|
|
behalf of our country; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Jimenez was wounded in June of 1969 while |
|
|
serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam |
|
|
War, and he later returned to his unit to finish his tour of duty; |
|
|
he received numerous commendations for his service, and as |
|
|
commander of his local chapter of Disabled American Veterans, he |
|
|
now works to help other soldiers returning from combat receive |
|
|
the assistance and benefits they deserve; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Jimenez was wounded while bravely carrying |
|
|
out his duties in service to our country, and he is truly |
|
|
deserving of recognition for his patriotism and his sacrifice; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Joel Jimenez for his courage, his |
|
|
dedication to duty, and his sacrifice in the service of our |
|
|
nation and extend to him sincere gratitude for his dedication to |
|
|
our country and best wishes for success in all his future |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
