SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 132
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join the citizens of Hutto in celebrating March 23, 2011, as
  Hutto Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, One of the fastest-growing cities in the state,
  Hutto traces its roots to a village first established in 1855 by
  Swedish settler J. E. Hutto and freed slave Adam Orgain; after
  more than a half century of growth, Hutto was incorporated in
  1911, and in 2011 the city is celebrating the centennial
  anniversary of its incorporation; and
         WHEREAS, Situated on the rich black farmland of
  southeastern Williamson County, Hutto is blessed with small-town
  charm along with easy access to all the amenities of big-city
  living; it offers an exceptional school district, a growing park
  system, expanding retail opportunities, and a dynamic, educated
  workforce; and
         WHEREAS, Hutto's past and present are steeped in the themes
  that drove the history of our state; from its agrarian roots in
  raising cotton to the arrival of the railroad to the rise of
  high-tech manufacturing, Hutto represents all the best that our
  state has to offer; and
         WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that Hutto be recognized for
  its important role in our state's history as its citizens
  celebrate the 100th anniversary of its incorporation and observe
  Hutto Day at the State Capitol; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of Hutto on their city's
  many contributions to the rich history of our state and extend to
  them best wishes for a memorable Hutto Day at the State Capitol;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special occasion.
