SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 151
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join the citizens of Irving in celebrating February 8, 2011, as
  Irving Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Home to more than 215,000 citizens, Irving began a
  period of rapid growth in the mid-20th century with the opening
  of the Plymouth Park Shopping Center, the University of Dallas,
  and the Irving Community Hospital; and
         WHEREAS, Irving boasts the global headquarters of such
  Fortune 500 companies as ExxonMobil, Kimberly-Clark, and the
  Fluor Corporation; the home office of the Boy Scouts of America
  is located in the city, along with its National Scouting Museum,
  which contains the world's largest collection of original Norman
  Rockwell scouting artwork; and
         WHEREAS, The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of
  Commerce is the state's first Five Star Chamber of Commerce and
  ably represents the city's business interests; the city offers
  residents and visitors alike numerous cultural, educational, and
  recreational opportunities; and
         WHEREAS, Irving has become one of the premier places in the
  state in which to live, work, and raise a family; its citizens are
  proudly facing the future while embracing their rich history;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of Irving for their many
  contributions to the prosperity and well-being of the state and
  extend to their delegation best wishes for a memorable Irving Day
  at the State Capitol; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the city as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
