SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 165

Nicolas O. Estrada |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Nicolas O. |
|
Estrada, who died January 26, 2011, at the age of 91; and |
|
WHEREAS, Nicolas O. Estrada was born in La Barca, Jalisco, |
|
Mexico, on September 10, 1919, to Jose Guadalupe Estrada and |
|
Porfiria Ortiz; he served his country with valor and steadfast |
|
patriotism in the United States Army, and he fought at the Battle |
|
of the Bulge during World War II; he later retired from civil |
|
service at Lackland Air Force Base; and |
|
WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, he was known for his |
|
integrity, strong character, and generosity and was respected |
|
for his many accomplishments; and |
|
WHEREAS, Nicolas Estrada was a devoted father and |
|
grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured |
|
for years to come by his family, his many friends, and all those |
|
who had the good fortune of knowing this dynamic and caring man; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
Legislature, hereby honor the memory of Nicolas O. Estrada and |
|
extend sincere condolences to his bereaved family; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
memory of Nicolas Estrada. |
