SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 191

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Paula Lee, who has been named Ms. Texas Senior America 2010; and

WHEREAS, The Ms. Senior America Pageant is the foremost pageant to give honor to and emphasize the importance of women who have reached the "Age of Elegance"; its philosophy is based on the principle that seniors are the foundation of America, who pass on their valuable knowledge, experience, and resources to the next generation and help them build a better future; and

WHEREAS, A native of Wichita Falls, Paula Lee gained valuable life experience growing up in communities all across the nation; she was a witness to history while attending high school in Jackson, Mississippi, observing a civil rights march led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Noted for her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest, she has taken up competitive power lifting and has won first place honors in her age and weight divisions; she and her husband own a Harley-Davidson Chopper Trike that has won numerous best-in-show awards; and

WHEREAS, Paula Lee is truly deserving of recognition for her many accomplishments and for exemplifying the grace and dignity of senior Americans; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Paula Lee on her many achievements and extend to her congratulations on being named Ms. Texas Senior America 2010; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
