SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 195
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Senior Police Officer Bobbie L. Miller, who is retiring
  from service with the Houston Police Department on March 19,
  2011; and
 
         WHEREAS, Following his graduation from the police academy
  in 1976, Officer Miller served for more than a decade in the
  Southeast Patrol Division; on January 7, 1988, he was assigned to
  the newly formed Eastside Patrol Division, where he has loyally
  served for the remainder of his career; he was promoted to the
  position of senior police officer in 2002; and
 
         WHEREAS, During his tenure with the department, Officer
  Miller has been recognized with 15 letters of commendation and
  expressions of appreciation from his supervisors and from
  citizens of the Houston community; and
 
         WHEREAS, Highly respected by his colleagues, Officer
  Miller is well known for his dedication to his profession and for
  his superior courage and leadership; and
 
         WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Officer Miller has
  displayed expertise and sound judgment in dealing with the unique
  challenges of law enforcement duty, and his presence with the
  Houston Police Department will be greatly missed; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Senior Police Officer Bobbie L.
  Miller on his exceptional career with the Houston Police
  Department and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years
  ahead; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
