SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 299
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
join the members of Texas Farm Bureau District Four and Texans |
|
|
across the state in celebrating Texas Farm Bureau Day at the |
|
|
State Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Farm Bureau was founded in 1933 and is |
|
|
one of the largest groups of farmers, ranchers, and rural |
|
|
families in the world; it is committed to the principle of |
|
|
grassroots policy development, with ideas coming directly from |
|
|
members before being proposed and enacted in the legislative |
|
|
arena; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, District Four encompasses Collin, Cooke, Dallas, |
|
|
Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hill, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, |
|
|
Kaufman, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, and Tarrant |
|
|
Counties; it contains more than 20,000 farms covering some 3.7 |
|
|
million acres and is a leading producer of forage crops and |
|
|
cattle; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Farm Bureau has played a critical role |
|
|
in representing agricultural interests at the local, state, and |
|
|
national levels, and it is truly fitting that a day be set aside |
|
|
to acknowledge its members' hard work and dedication; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Farm |
|
|
Bureau District Four on their many contributions to the wealth |
|
|
and prosperity of our state and extend to them best wishes for |
|
|
a memorable Texas Farm Bureau Day at the State Capitol; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
this exemplary organization as an expression of esteem from the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
