SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 306
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Patricia Steele, who has received a Texas Exes Award
  for Outstanding Teachers for her exemplary contributions to
  education in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Patricia Steele received the Suzan and Julius
  Glickman Award; she is an accelerated math instructor for fourth
  and fifth grade students at Little Cypress Intermediate School in
  Orange; and
         WHEREAS, Patricia graduated magna cum laude from McNeese
  State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with a bachelor's
  degree in elementary education; she earned a master's degree in
  education and school administration from Lamar State University
  in Beaumont; she has been a teacher for 19 years, with 16 of those
  years spent in the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Consolidated
  Independent School District; and
         WHEREAS, A dedicated teacher, she believes all students
  can learn when supplied with effective, individualized
  instruction in a positive learning environment; she works
  constantly to improve her teaching skills, and she has received a
  number of awards over the years for her teaching excellence;
  and
         WHEREAS, Patricia was selected as Elementary Teacher of
  the Year for Region Five for 2009-2010, and was Little Cypress
  Intermediate-Elementary Teacher of the Year for the 2009-2010
  school year; and
         WHEREAS, She attributes her success to her devout faith,
  her love of children and learning, her positive attitude and
  sense of humor, and the support she receives from school
  administrators, other teachers and mentors, and her husband,
  Barry; and
         WHEREAS, The future of Texas depends on its children being
  fully equipped with the skills they need to meet the challenges
  that lie ahead in the 21st century; their success would not be
  possible without the commitment and enthusiasm provided by
  teachers such as Patricia Steele; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Patricia Steele for her exemplary
  career in education and extend to her congratulations on being
  recognized with the Texas Exes Award for Outstanding Teacher,
  Suzan and Julius Glickman Award; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
