SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 351
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize March 3, 2011, as Texas Association of Black Personnel
  in Higher Education Day; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Black Personnel in
  Higher Education was established in 1973 to promote, maintain,
  and assure the participation of black citizens in the realm of
  higher education; and
 
         WHEREAS, The organization represents over 1,000 black
  faculty members, staff members, and administrators of Texas
  colleges and universities and serves as a strong advocate for
  ethnic minorities in the educational process; and
 
         WHEREAS, The association is hosting a conference March 3
  through 5 entitled "The Power of Change II: Celebrating the
  Progress" and commencing with a visit to the Capitol; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Association
  of Black Personnel in Higher Education on their dedication to the
  promotion of leadership and participation by ethnic minorities
  in the field of higher education and extend appreciation to them
  for their many contributions to this state on Texas Association
  of Black Personnel in Higher Education Day; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  this exemplary association as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
