SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 373
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Leland Lundgren for his 55 years of outstanding service
  as a church musician; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Lundgren began providing music for churches
  while he was studying music in Stockholm, Sweden, and for more
  than half a century he has brought passion and professionalism to
  his work; and
         WHEREAS, Currently the musician and choir director for
  Manor United Methodist Church, Mr. Lundgren has served at
  numerous churches throughout the state, including Central
  Christian Church in Hill, Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Austin,
  and First Methodist Church in Waxahachie; and
         WHEREAS, Noted for his broad interest in a wide variety of
  sacred music, Mr. Lundgren has also served as an educator,
  teaching music at Hill College and San Marcos High School; and
         WHEREAS, Manor United Methodist Church is paying tribute
  to his 55 years of commitment with a special ceremony being held
  March 13, 2011; he is truly deserving of recognition for his
  dedication and his legacy of service; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Leland Lundgren on his many
  achievements as a musician and extend to him best wishes for
  continued success in all his future endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
