SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 374
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Teresa Dianne May
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Teresa Dianne May, who
  died February 4, 2011, at the age of 50; and
         WHEREAS, Teresa Dianne May was born November 12, 1960, in
  Oak Ridge, Tennessee; she moved with her family to Austin in 1968
  and went on to graduate from Anderson High School in 1978; and
         WHEREAS, She attended the University of Kentucky School of
  Music following a successful audition to enter its piano
  performance program; for her senior presentation she performed a
  Chopin recital, and she graduated in 1982; and
         WHEREAS, She returned to Texas and completed studies for a
  paralegal certificate at Southwest Texas State University and
  began a career as a legal assistant; for more than 20 years, she
  worked in environmental law for the firm of Brown McCarroll; and
         WHEREAS, She was fascinated by genealogy and had traced her
  family to the Revolutionary War, in which 10 of her ancestors had
  served; she was a member of the Andrew Carruthers Chapter of the
  Daughters of the American Revolution; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of courage, creativity, and compassion, she
  gave generously to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and enthusiasm
  for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those
  who knew her; and
         WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife and mother, and her family
  and many friends will continue to live with the treasured memories
  of her life and her many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Teresa Dianne May: her husband, Ben William Jones; her
  daughter, Margaret Lee May-Jones; her parents, Fred and Darlene
  May; and her brothers, Martin and David May; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Teresa Dianne May.
